Identity design & web design

The brief:

Marine People is a specialist recruitment company working in the maritime industry. It needed a brand identity and website to position it as a bespoke recruiter with expert industry knowledge, far removed from a typical high street recruitment agency.

The idea:

Working closely with the directors, I developed the idea of using an arrow shape as an image framing device to suggest moving along the career path. I chose strong, bright colours and combined these with a business-like sans serif typeface.

I chose Freight Sans Pro as the type family as it has a professional yet human character.

Visual styling and brochure

The bright colours, clear imagery and forward-looking arrows come together to create a bold and professional brand identity.


The website was built with WordPress which enabled the directors to manage their own content. I tailored the website to different-sized screens to show relevant content and ensure a seamless user experience.
